Frequently Asked Questions from Bouquet Preservation Clients

What is the process?

Here's a quick step-by-step overview into the process of the flower preservation client based service:

**Remember to keep your flowers in water when not in use.

1. Book the Bouquet. This includes $200 deposit , reservation, & questionnaire.

2. Drop-off flowers within 3 days max of event (the sooner, the better). Home studio address & contact info will be included in your booking confirmation email.

3. Eight weeks later, client will receive a dried flower inventory update by text. At this point,  we will confirm artworks, materials & any composition requests you may have.

4. Client enters cue for layout/design.

5. Layout is approved, or modified until approved, by client.

6. Artwork(s) are usually completed within 6-8 months & ready for pick-up or shipping. Client will receive a custom link for checkout & payment processing.

My date is unavailable. Can you still preserve my flowers?

Some weekends are busier than others, however,  I will always try to save as many bouquets as possible! Although my booking calendar may be full, there is a chance I still have room for you, so please reach out to inquire!

How do I care for my flowers before drop off?

Please, leave your flowers in a vase or bucket of clean water when not in use. A fresh, angled cut is helpful & appreciated. Please, do NOT refrigerate your bouquet unless using a cooler designed for florals only. I recommend traveling with your flowers in water, by cup holder or the floor of your car. Ask a family member or friend to help with the task of tending to & dropping off your special blooms!

When can I drop off my bouquet?

Whenever is convenient for you or designated person within 1-3 days of the event! While not necessary, I do appreciate a heads up by text or email as I work from my home studio in Summerville. If I happen to step away momentarily or am unavailble to be present for the arrival of your flowers, I will leave a labeled bucket under an umbrella for porch drop off.  If you prefer an in-person, hand-off meeting, we must coordinate the day & time that works best for both parties.

Phone: (802) 579-8244

Email: juniper.rain.and.crow@gmail.

How will we communicate?

Initially, we will communicate by email. I will transition to text messaging once all moisture is removed from your flowers. If you prefer a different contact method, please let me know.

How long does the process take?

The entire preservation process may take up to 8 months depending on season, complexity of artwork(s) & volume. If you are in need of a gift by a particular date, please discuss in advance.

Will my flowers look exactly the same as they did at my event?

Yes and no. Some will, others may resemble your flowers but dry in a different color or shade. These flowers are no longer fresh (in fact, they are dead) & variations should be expected. Depth of the project is also a variable as flowers are processed to fit in desired artwork. For example, varieties in shadowboxes & resin blocks may keep their whole, 3D shape whereas smaller resin works & pressed frames will require flowers to be dried semi-flat. The natural process of oxidation will continue to change your blooms overtime, especially in white & pale varieties, therefore color enhancement of white blooms may be corrected at my discretion, without additional fees. Bouquets with variety, texture & color often make for the best artwork compositions! Please, reach out if you have any concerns or questions!

How will I be a part of the design process?

After receiving your dried flower inventory, you will be placed in the cue for layout & design. At this point, I welcome any and all ideas or special requests you may have! If you have saved images for inspiration, feel free to send them my way! Layout will be approved by client before anything is finalized. If I don't quite get it right the first time, I will continue to offer you options until you have a composition you absolutely love!

Can I change my mind or add-on items?

You are able to change your mind on your artwork of choice as long as the sealing process has not yet started with any glue or resin. Items may be added on at any point as long as abundance of flowers allow! On the off chance you choose not to move forward with your preservation, the $100 deposit is non-refundable & there will be an additional fee if you would like your flowers returned.

Will my artwork be perfect?

I will certainly do my best! Beauty is the goal but, please allow space for some imperfections.  I am an artist not a magician, working with imperfect, fragile & organic materials. Experience allows me to minimize flaws as much as possible, but, please keep in mind, these items are handmade, & with lots of love! Oxidation is a natural process & may continue over time. Resin is fluid & realistic outcomes are appreciated, such as pigment variation & occasional bubbles or transparent spots on petals. Don't let this scare you away as resin art is beautiful & is such a lovely way to display your special flowers!

Can you ship my finished artwork?

Yes! The option for shipping your completed artwork is available. The shipping fee for frames & resin blocks is $25. Larger items, such as tables, or multiple items may cost more.

How do I care for finished artwork?

For longevity purposes, please keep your completed artworks away from direct sunlight & high humidity. Do not use harsh chemicals to clean. Instead, use a soft, microfiber cloth. Sometimes, the bottom of frames can collect bits of silica, especially during initial transit. To remove, open the frame and blow out any desiccant or particles that may have fallen. Some frames may have an intentional gap between spacer bars, where this sand can be shaken into to hide. Reach out anytime if you have questions!
